Constants often have units as well as numerical values. The units of constants are designated within square brackets following the numerical values such as 2 [ft] in the first equation.
The units that EES currently recognizes can be viewed with the Unit Conversion Info command in the Options menu. Additional units can be added by modifying the Units.txt file in the EES32 folder.
The ^ symbol which indicates raising to a power is options. Thus m2 and m^2 are interpreted in the same manner. However, the equations will format the ^2 as a superscript. Similarly, the underscore in lb_m is optional. With the underscore, the m appears as a subscript.
